Restaurant Review: Cafe Al Fresco by Cantina Bodega, Panjim Goa!

Hey from EL The Cook!

We're in beautiful Goa again and we review the most enchanting place for breakfast in Goa, Cafe Al Fresco, by Bodega!

Sunaparanta - The Goa Centre for Arts, is the non-profit organization which manages the lovely Goan Bungalow, located in the picturesque hills of Altinho Panjim.

To relax and unwind after seeing the wonderful art galleries, the Goa Centre for Arts have created the prettiest courtyard cafe which serves amazing food!
Bodega(Spanish), which means a small cafe selling food and wine greets you with a tranquil look. The peaceful courtyard, the whistling birds and shuffling leaves all make the perfect ambiance for a coffee and breakfast!
They have a menu which changes often so prepare to be surprised!

Here's what we ordered..

JAMAICAN ICED COFFEE

As inviting as this picture is, the coffee is a hundred times better! A wisp of smokiness of the coffee runs through the chilled glass out through the top giving you an aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans. A luscious cream waits for your stir at the bottom of the glass.

Upon mixing, flavours of the cream and coffee marry with each other creating a match made in heaven!

EGGS BENEDICT WITH HOLLANDAISE SAUCE

Eggs Benedict is a staple of the American breakfast, first served at the Waldorf Astoria in New York, luscious free flowing egg yolks are laid atop a toasted bread or muffin, topped with a gorgeous hollandaise sauce!

Bodega's version is spectacular! The aroma of the spiced butter, the crunch of the lettuce and the smooth flowing yolk, just make this one of the best breakfast dishes we've ever laid hands on!

WAFFLES WITH FRESH BERRY COMPOTE

Ah! The breakfast just keeps getting better!
Super hot, sumptuous waffles dusted with castor sugar are served with a fresh berry compote!

The freshness of the waffles is superb, the berry compote is fruity and has that right amount of acidity to make the waffles taste nothing short of amazing!
As you spread those juicy blueberries on the waffle they settle in those ever inviting waffle depressions, making a bite into these, oh, so memorable!

Cafe Al Fresco by Cantina Bodega, preserving Goa's Portuguese heritage, through arts and some delicious food.

Ambiance wise, with a relaxed courtyard and a quiet setting, Bodega certainly sets the mood for a lip-smacking breakfast or lunch.

Their food is nothing short of spectacular, with smoky blends of coffee to super smooth hollandaise sauce; Creamy Eggs Benedict to a well balanced fruit compote, chefs at Bodega, know their flavours!

Cafe Al Fresco, demands a visit when you are in Goa, the sheer beauty of your surroundings and flavour of the food, makes this one of the best cafes we've visited!
