Restaurant Review : The Little Door

Hello from EL The Cook! Today we review The Little Door (TLD), Kalyani Nagar, Pune

The Little Door, well known in Mumbai for its no frills, easy-go-lucky style concept bar, which opened in Pune, this past November. The place has an uncanny charm and helps you rewind and energize after a long working day.

Owned by brother-sister duo, Tanu & Bhuvan Narang their dining philosophy is reflected so well in the decor and homely atmosphere!

The charming Little blue door, welcomes you to a relaxed ambiance! White garden tables and a lovely beach bar shack adorn the outdoor setting. Color delights the senses with textured paintings &  paper lanterns fluttering in the breeze. The indoor setting is more subdued with a bar chairs and stained glass reflecting the sea.

The outdoor seating could do with more light on the individual tables during evening dining. It surely makes it hard to read their detailed menu!

The Little Door, is known for serving up sumptuous Mediterranean & Italian fair. What the restaurant does best is give a dual experience of culinary delights and also a healthy dose of nightlife with contemporary club music.

The staff is well informed and polite.

With a lively charm, The Little Door also has introduced Chug-a-Mug and Beer pong contests, keeping their audience engaged and wanting more.

Here's what we tried:

 Veggie Yemista(Ge-Mi-Sta)

This traffic light colored plate looks delicious from the 1st glance. Slicing through the 1st bell pepper reveals a fresh paella (rice). Cooked and flavored well, the paella shines through.

The yellow bell pepper upon cutting reveals a creamy, mushroom flavored spaghetti. The texture of the sauce has a strong carbonara flavor.

The plate can do without the squiggle of a dark barbecue sauce.

Seafood Pizza

Generous on the toppings, the seafood pizza is spectacular. The shrimp and squid and cooked perfectly. One bite of the thin crust pizza, takes you to the Italian coast.
The  cherry tomatoes and onion  compliment the pizza well.

The seafood punch however is missing, with the cheese and mushrooms dominating the pizza flavor.

The Little Door, a charming place, tying the urge to party and a sense of good food together.

Known for their innovative "drunken dishes" and pretty cocktails, TLD surely makes a great impact on the seasoned party-goer.

The food reflects a generous & homely presentation, complimenting their outlook as a restaurant well. The finesse of the presentation and quality of produce could do better.

Visit The Little Door, for some great fun and a refreshing experience of contemporary drinking and dining!
