Today EL the Cook takes you on a Mexican journey and briefs you about the experience at the local Chili's Restaurant. Despite it being a chain of outlets round the world, this place is worth a review because of the sheer uniqueness of this type of cuisine in this part of the world.

Chili's offers a great experience of Mexican food and drink, all at a budget.

The ambiance takes you to Mexico with the intricate tiled tables and a Margarita bar. The place is well lit with the Car headlamps over each table and posters which surround you,  depicting great food and giant chili's, reminding you that the food can get really hot if you want it to!

For a refreshing hit though,the recommendations, are the heady cocktails like the Caipiroska and Margarita's, which you will remember when you leave.

The Salads are full-bodied and offer a tingle of taste to your taste-buds. The ones to try are the grilled barbecue chicken salad and the Quesadilla explosion chicken salad. The crunch of the nachos, freshness of the corn and succulent chicken is tied together by the acidity of the barbecue sauce and flavor of tomatoes.

The burgers are usually not recommended here. The chicken ones are well marinated and offer a mediocre fast food experience. Whereas the beef patties are dry, grainy  and unappetizing to the meat-lovers palette. 

The Quesadilla's are quite good and offer a different taste to the average Indian Foodie.

Something very unique about the main course menu is the Fajita's which offer you your very own "Build-Up-Dinner". The ingredients to your dinner are all served separately and you have to assemble this as you want.

The meal arrives on a dainty sizzler plate, on which succulent pieces of your choice of protein is served over a bed of fries. Different containers of sour cream, guacamole & corn salad are served on the side. A dainty blue box containing 3 white breads is also served.   

 

After assembly its looks something like this one below. A true mouth-watering treat it is, the blend of flavors is spectacular and each bite invites the next! A mix of meats is also offered.

This is really appealing to the Indian Palette as a chapati is the usual dinner fare at home. The freshness of taste & the Mexican flavors only heighten the homely experience.

In case, you have not had your fill already, the desserts are to die for. The molten chocolate lava cake, served with a dollop of fresh vanilla ice-cream, and topped with a crust of chocolate sauce is more sinful than what you've just had, causing instant chocolate addiction.

The sweet punch cuts the tang of the Mexican meal, bringing you crashing to the end of your meal!
