Irresistible Ice-Cream! - Pasteur Dairy & Bakery Review

PASTEUR DAIRY & BAKERY - 6, M.G. ROAD, PUNE

Hey Everyone! EL the Cook was truly amazed at the fan following behind this cafes Soft-Serve Ice-Cream. (fondly known as Softies)

We snapped up this picture above and this is no edited picture!!  The actual size of this Soft Serve is the size of your face (not including the cone!).

This cafe is as old as MG Road itself, with its traditional Persian facade, it is truly inviting from the outside. It is known for its street food ( Indian Chaat, Pani-Puri or Gol- Gappe), Slushes and refreshing fruit juices.

However for a truly memorable Ice-Cream experience head to this airy cafe for a dollop of an extra tall soft serve!

The milk used for the Ice-Cream is made from the dairy's own milk factory and the freshness of the milk is testimony to the sheer fame of this Soft Serve.

Available in 4 flavors, Vanilla, Chocolate, Mango & a combination of Vanilla & Chocolate, the Ice-Cream is smooth and glides behind your tongue producing that familiar chill in your throat!

The Star of the Ice-Cream selection is the "Choco-Dip" variety which is available in 2 flavors; Chocolate and Vanilla. The size of this serve is commendable with the visible portion of the ice-cream over the cone reaching over 10cm (Somehow,Resisting gravity!). After this monstrous serve, the swirl is dipped into warm molten chocolate which forms a crust on the surface, only making it more tempting!

My only negative (after a slight brain-freeze!) is that this cafe doesn't do much for seating and should be kept more hygienic in terms of its service. Also focus on the few items that are excellent, and removing items that are average is  required.

There might be a number of exotic flavors available with Ice-Creams, but for a truly traditional, giant Soft Serve, visit Pasteur Diary. The crunch of the hard chocolate layer and the light, smooth Ice-Cream will make you feel like a child at heart, always jealous as to who gets the taller Ice-Cream!!
