Restaurant Review : Millets Of Mewar!
Hey from EL The Cook!
Our travels take us to Udaipur, Rajasthan, the city of lakes! Dubbed one of the most romantic destinations in India, Udaipur, formerly the capital of the Mewar kingdom. With at least 11 lakes, it is an oasis in the desert state of Rajasthan.
Udaipur is a popular tourist destination and with the abundance of palaces, makes for many a movie set!
Our quest however was good food, and Udaipur has some great offbeat places!

One such place is Millets Of Mewar, located in the old city area of Udaipur a minutes walk away from Lal Ghat, bordering Lake Pichola.
Their motto is "we are what we eat". Millets of Mewar, puts up fresh organic, authentic and sustainable food.
With a relaxed ambiance and a view of Lake Pichola, Millets of Mewar is a charming place. Large diwans are placed around low tables surrounded by colorful Rajasthani art!

MULTI-GRAIN BREAKFAST BURRITO
Not your regular burrito, Millets of Mewar serves up a healthy, gluten free breakfast with its burrito. Different kinds of millets are made into a super-light burrito, stuffed with a scrambled egg with onions, bell pepper and tomato.
The burrito shell is crispy and the egg adds a subtle freshness to the dish!
NUTELLA BANANA PANCAKES
Millets of Mewar, next serves up their Nutella Banana pancakes. To our surprise, their pancakes too were served up completely gluten free, without wheat flour or eggs!
This is a difficult ask, especially it comes to balance of flavor and taste. The pancakes airy texture and lightness blew us away!
The smooth pancake texture is slightly grainy but super delicious. The guilt of the nutella on the top is justified by the healthy pancakes below!
A wonderfully thought out and well executed dish.
Millets of Mewar, a healthy, organic restaurant disrupting the food scene in Udaipur with their tasty, sustainable food.
Food with a difference and heart, is served up by the young owners of this restaurant. A commendable task when using non familiar ingredients like millets and adapting them to current food trends!
A must visit is Millets of Mewar, if your in Udaipur!
This place looks amazing. Love that they have gluten free menu items which not only look great but according to Elton taste good too which is the key. It definitely makes me want to visit Udaipur when I next visit India.
