Restaurant Review : Le Plaisir Patisserie & Bistro!

Hey from EL The Cook!

Today we review one of Pune's highest rated casual dining outlets, Le Plaisir!
Located on the quiet Prabhat Road, Le Plaisir, boasts some serious ratings on Zomato, so we went to see what the fuss was all about!

Le Plaisir, on your first look, has flair and certainly lives up to its name in french which means "Pleasure!".   With its emphasis on cleanliness, they have an open kitchen. Not overdone, the ambiance is rustic and there is a notable hustle and bustle from the chefs..

Passionate owner, Siddharth Mahadik, who has an impressive degree combination of marine engineering and French culinary arts from Cordon Bleu school in Australia, certainly throws us a surprise with his healthy artistic cuisine.

Le Plaisir, which changes their menu frequently, depending upon the freshness of available ingredients.

ROAST CHICKEN ICEBERG SALAD WITH PARMESAN AND KAFFIR LIME DRESSING

Conceptually brilliant flavors combine to give us a freshness of South East Asia. The smokiness of the chicken is complimented by the crunch of the Parmesan and Celery which are essentially Italian flavors.  A simple salad, with complex textural notes, marrying flavors of 2 different continents.

HERBED GARLIC BREAD WITH CHEESE

Happiness often comes in simple dishes, and Le Plaisir serves up some exemplary garlic loaf. The lightness and crunchiness of the bread is outstanding. The cheese is melt in the mouth and the combination of herbs like fresh parsley really give your palette an incredible freshness.

CROQUE MADAME

Deliciously crunchy slices of bread sandwich together smoky ham and cheese. The grilled bread sets the creamy, buttery flavors as you take your first bite. Topped with a fried egg whose center oozes down the middle, making this traditional french snack all the more inviting.
The side smear of mustard, adds a depth of flavor to the indulgent sandwich.

ASSORTED MACAROONS

This is what all food enthusiasts, visit a french patisserie for.. the macaroons! Delicate dollops of almond biscuit sandwich airy creme accentuating the flavor of the biscuit.

Le Plaisir, does put up a masterpiece. We tried the coffee and salted caramel macaroon.

Coffee: The smokiness of the grain of coffee can be literally felt through the rich creme. The biscuit is moist and melts on your palette.

Salted Caramel: This is not a flavor we'd usually associate with a macaroon. The salty sweetness of the caramel is quite remarkable. The balance of flavors and the pleasure you get with just a bite is spectacular. Neither too sweet nor too salty this macaroon is a must try.

La Plaisir Bistro, puts up simple but tasty french cuisine. The flair of the chefs to produce great food time and again is remarkable.

La Plaisir, does its little things right, like the lighting on the tables, the rustic blackboard menu and the perfect portions. The bigger things like aptness for french flavor and presentation are brilliantly executed.

Visit La Plaisir for a truly overwhelming experience of french cuisine executed with skill and class!
